A gaming dashboard that aggregates live signals from across the web — and turns them into one place to check what's happening right now. We're continuously adding platforms, testing new signals and improving the data.
What is this?
GameSonar is a personal side project that got a bit out of hand. The idea is simple: stay on the pulse of gaming without having to check ten different sites. See what's trending, find something new to play, figure out what's worth buying, or just see who's streaming what.
Every tracked game gets a live hype score built from real signals — viewer counts, Steam activity, community posts, news volume — updated every few minutes. You also get game pages with links to stores, communities, strategy guides, and current reviews.
The algorithm and data sources are still experimental. We're adjusting weights, testing new signals, and figuring out what's actually useful. Some numbers will be off. That's fine — it's part of building something iteratively.

Built by one person, in spare time
GameSonar runs on API calls, late nights and curiosity. There are no investors, no ads, no sponsored results. If you find it useful and feel like buying the developer a coffee — that genuinely means a lot and helps keep the lights on.
Support on Ko-fiNo account needed · One-time or monthly · Completely optional
Live data sources
All data is pulled from official APIs. No scraping, no guessing, no sponsored content.
Game metadata, release dates, genres, developers, artwork, ratings and website links. Every title on GameSonar is backed by IGDB's comprehensive database.
Live viewer counts, stream titles, channel data and game categories — pulled directly from Twitch's official API. Refreshed every 2 minutes for the dashboard.
Live stream data from Kick — viewer counts, channel info and active gaming streams. Shown alongside Twitch streams in the Live Right Now section.
Gaming videos, live stream viewer counts and trending content from YouTube's v3 API. Live streams appear in the dashboard when quota is available (10k units/day).
Current player counts, review scores and ownership data from Steam. Powers the player stats bar on every game page.
Gaming headlines from IGN, Eurogamer, Kotaku and 50+ outlets — auto-classified into patches, events and reviews and matched to the relevant game.
Gaming discussions and trending posts from Bluesky — fetched via the AT Protocol public API. Surfaces what the community is talking about outside of traditional platforms.
Wikipedia pageview statistics used as a proxy for general public interest. A sudden spike in Wikipedia traffic often signals that a game is about to trend.
Estimated Steam ownership data and concurrent player trends. Used to contextualise how large a game's player base is relative to current activity.
Esports match data, tournament schedules and live results across CS2, Valorant, League of Legends and more. Powers the Esports section on the dashboard.
Still in development
GameSonar is a passion project that's actively being built.
The core platform is live: real-time hype scores, game pages with live signal data, multi-platform streams, gaming news, esports coverage, and community posts from Bluesky. Scores update every few minutes from actual signals across Twitch, Steam, YouTube, Wikipedia and more.
There are a lot of directions this could go — personalisation, better discovery, more signals, deeper game pages. Nothing is announced. We're building thoughtfully rather than shipping half-finished features.
If there's something specific you'd find useful, feedback goes a long way.
