A gaming dashboard that aggregates live signals from across the web — and turns them into one place to check what's happening right now. I'm continuously adding platforms, testing new signals and improving the data.
GameSonar is a personal passion project built around a simple idea: stay on the pulse of gaming without having to check ten different sites. See what's trending, find something new to play, figure out what's worth buying, or just see who's streaming what.
Every tracked game gets a live hype score built from real signals — cross-platform live viewers, Steam activity, video and clip reach, Wikipedia interest and matched Bluesky engagement — updated every few minutes. News and esports data provide context but are not currently score inputs. You also get game pages with links to stores, communities, strategy guides, and current reviews.
The algorithm and data sources are still experimental. I'm adjusting weights, testing new signals, and learning what's actually useful. Some numbers will be off. That's part of building and improving the platform iteratively.
We prefer official APIs and also use clearly identified public feeds, publisher RSS and public web discovery where an API does not expose the required list. No source can buy ranking weight, and editorial content does not currently add HypeScore points.
Game metadata, release dates, genres, developers, artwork, ratings and website links. Release dates also provide the temporary release-context contribution to HypeScore.
Category position, concurrent viewers, stream and channel data from Twitch's official API. Viewers join YouTube Live and Kick in one shared live-stream HypeScore signal; seven-day Twitch clip views are a separate signal.

Most-played charts, current player counts, reviews and store data. Rank and concurrent players form the main parts of the Steam HypeScore signal.
Gaming publisher RSS feeds power the main news views; NewsAPI, GNews and TheNewsAPI can supplement game-specific coverage when configured. News is editorial context and does not currently add HypeScore points.
Gaming discussions from the AT Protocol public API. Likes and reposts on matched posts contribute to the Bluesky HypeScore signal and also power community views.
Public gaming-community posts from Lemmy complement Bluesky in the Discussions view. They are currently presented as community context and do not add HypeScore points.
Seven-day pageview statistics from Wikimedia used as a public-interest signal. The values are normalised across the current game set before entering HypeScore.
Estimated Steam audience and two-week engagement data. The engagement measure supplies the sustained-activity component inside the shared Steam HypeScore signal.
Esports matches, tournament schedules and live results across CS2, Valorant, League of Legends and more. It powers the Esports section but does not currently add HypeScore points.

The core platform is live: real-time hype scores, game pages with live signal data, multi-platform streams, gaming news, esports coverage, and community posts from Bluesky. Scores update every few minutes from actual signals across Twitch, Steam, YouTube, Wikipedia and more.
I'm exploring more personal discovery, watchlists and alerts, richer historical comparisons, additional community signals, deeper game pages, improved release tracking and new ways to turn the data into useful daily and weekly stories.
