A plain-language overview of how GameSonar handles data.
Last updated: July 2026
GameSonar (gamesonar.gg) is a gaming discovery platform operated from Austria. For privacy questions or requests, contact gamesonar.gg@gmail.com.
Our hosting and performance services may process basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, requested page, time of access and performance measurements. This is needed to deliver, protect and troubleshoot the site.
GameSonar uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights for aggregated usage and performance information. We do not use advertising trackers or build advertising profiles.
You can sign in with Google, Twitch, or an email address and password. Depending on your choice, we store:
We never receive your Google or Twitch password. GameSonar does not collect payment details.
Authentication uses a necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. Its exact name can vary between development and the secure production site. The optional kids-mode setting also uses a cookie.
Your selected visual theme is stored in your browser's local storage under atg-theme.
We limit processing to what is needed for these purposes and do not sell personal data.
GameSonar combines public game, stream, video, news and community information from sources such as Twitch/IGDB, Steam, YouTube, Kick, Bluesky, Lemmy, Wikimedia and esports or news providers. These requests are normally made by our servers rather than directly by your browser.
Vercel provides hosting, analytics and performance measurement. Database and authentication providers process only the information needed to run those parts of the service. If you follow an external link, the destination site's own privacy policy applies.
Fonts are self-hosted and are not loaded from Google when you visit the site.
Account data and your saved content are kept while your account is active or while needed to provide the service. Technical logs and aggregated analytics are kept according to the configured retention periods of our service providers. Anonymous game-level history is not connected to your account.
You can request account deletion by emailing gamesonar.gg@gmail.com.
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, restrict its use, or object to certain processing. Contact gamesonar.gg@gmail.com and we will help with your request.
