The story takes place three years after the second major invasion of the Southern Song Dynasty by the Jin Empire. Picking up where the first game left off, the tale follows Zhang Ru Meng, the son of the great Southern Song general and famed swordsman "Flying Sword" Zhang Feng, and Nan Gong Cai Hong, daughter of the Jin Empire’s grand advisor and "Heavenly Sword" Nan Gong Mie.
